Rabat Diamond League : Unveiling Athletic Excellence

The conference began with an opening address by the Secretary General of the federation, on behalf of the President of the Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation and the director of the meeting. He expressed gratitude to the attending media for their ongoing support in promoting athletics. Emphasizing the international prestige of the Rabat Diamond League, he highlighted its significance as a platform to showcase Morocco’s athletic talents. Furthermore, he mentioned that this edition will bring together a total of 160 athletes from 51 different countries, including several Olympic and world champions who will contribute to the magnitude of this event.

Next, the head of the international athletes’ lineup took the stage to announce the headliners who will ignite the stadium in Rabat. He also shared the list of athletes who will compete in 14 various athletic disciplines. In his presentation, he provided a technical analysis, stating that this major sports event will be filled with outstanding performances, thanks to the participation of numerous global stars.

Moreover, the representative of the national technical management took the floor to introduce the Moroccan athletes who will participate in the Rabat Diamond League, led by the Olympic and world champion in the 3000m steeplechase, Soufiane El Bakkali. Thus, this meeting provides these athletes with the opportunity to compete in one of the finest competitions in world athletics.

Following the presentations, journalists had the opportunity to pose questions to the organizers. This question-and-answer session clarified various aspects of the event and fostered a fruitful exchange between the media and the organizers. The meeting will also witness the use of “Wavelight” technology, an electronic “pace-setter” device equipped with LED lighting systems, enabling runners to instantly visualize their pace.

This second leg of the Rabat Diamond League offers a unique competition platform where the world’s top international athletes gather to push their limits and inspire the entire world through their sporting excellence.
