Hamish Kerr has quickly established himself as one of New Zealand’s most exciting track and field athletes. He first made headlines in 2021 when he set a New Zealand U20 high jump record by clearing 2.21 meters. More than a decade later, he has repeatedly broken his own national record, including a jump of 2.31 m in 2023. This performance not only reinforced his dominance in New Zealand but also showcased his potential on the global stage.
In March 2024, Kerr delivered another outstanding performance at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, clearing 2.36 m. He entered the Paris Olympic Games as one of the world’s top high jumpers—and confirmed his status by winning gold with a jump of 2.36 m. His consistency at major championships highlights his ability to compete at the highest level, both indoors and outdoors.
Since then, Kerr has continued to improve. He has added two more gold medals to his collection, further cementing his reputation as a world-class athlete. Hamish Kerr represents the best of New Zealand athletics: determined, skilled, and fearless.
