The Neo Zelander Valerie Adams, shut put olympic champion, won the shot put event of the 9th edition of the Meeting Interrnational Mohammed VI d’Athlétisme, third step of the Diamond League tour, disputed on Sunday at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.

Adams wins the Shot Put event

Adams performed a best throw of 19,68 meters (a personal best), coming ahead of the Hungarian Anita Marton (18,51meters) and the American Brittany Smith (17,84 meters).

During this 9th edition of the meeting, the public, as well as the international sports scene witnessed some exceptional performances.

Disputed for the first time in Africa, the third step of the Diamond League was held in good conditions and in a convival and competitive ambience, joining 190 athletes representing 49 countries.
