The 14th Diamond League edition which took place on May 5th in the Qatari capital Doha, witnessed world-class athletes compete in 14 Diamond League disciplines,six for women and eight for men, where the performances were strong and impressive.

1st stage of the Diamond League results

Dominican runner MARILEIDY PAULINO showed her dominance in the 400m, winning the race comfortably with a time of 50.51 seconds. The Bahraini WINFRED MUTILE YAVI also won the 3000m steeplechase with  an impressive world’s best performance of the year in 9:04.38.

The Olympic champion in the 100m hurdles, JASMINE CAMACHO-QUINN, also won her race with an excellent time of 12.48 seconds. In other events, SLIMANE MOULA won the 800m, JUVAUGH HARRISON dominated the high jump with a leap of 2.32 meters, FRED KERLEY ran a phenomenal straight to win the 200m in 19.92 seconds, and NEERAJ CHOPRA , India’s first ever Olympic champion in athletics, dominated the javelin with a throw of 88.67 meters. Additionally, the Qatari athlete MUTAZ ESSA BARSHIM finished third with a best clearance of 2.24m. He also claimed the joint Olympic crown which he shared with GIANMARCO TAMBERI in Tokyo.

The curtains closed on the majestic Doha stage , with hopes of enjoying comparable excitement and atmosphere in Rabat .
